Nearly Half of the Participants Buy All-New
Mondeo Following Test Drive in Taiwan
TAIPEI, Taiwan – Customers in Taiwan got a shot behind the wheel of the all-new Mondeo on July 17, marking the first long-distance test-drive for this exciting new vehicle since it launched in the market on July 1. The test-drive proved successful for Ford Lio Ho as nine of the 19 participants placed orders for the All-New Mondeo at the end of the day.
The drive kicked off on the busy streets of Taipei, passed over the mountains of Miaoli County and ended at Carp Lake in western Taiwan. The 351-km route was designed to demonstrate Mondeo’s excellent fuel efficiency and impressive handling.
Participants were impressed with Mondeo's award-winning technologies, including its 240-horsepower EcoBoost engine and PowerShift transmission, which make it the most powerful locally manufactured car in its segment.
"I could really feel the difference of the All-New Mondeo when driving on the winding roads," said Chingtsung Chien, a former Toyota Altis owner and one of the nine customers who decided to buy a Mondeo after the test-drive. "It's powerful, yet extremely quiet. The EcoBoost engine totally won my heart."
Minghong Liu, a sales representative from Jump Motor dealership, sold two Mondeos as a result of the test-drive. With 22-years experience selling Ford vehicles, Liu expects to close more sales in the near future, noting that the vehicle is one of the best in the market due to its unique ability to combine elegance, speed, agility, fuel-efficiency, and practicality.
"Customers tend to select cars based on their needs at that time in their lives," said Liu. "But Mondeo is different because it grows with you and handles your needs, regardless of where you are in life."
Thanks to Liu, Chaoyun Hsu, a local college professor, became the first owner of the 2011 all-new Mondeo in Taiwan.
"I really like the combination of having a sporty exterior and comfortable, modern interior," said Hsu. "My friends were amazed by how fast, and yet how smooth and quiet the car was when they took a ride with me."
